A: Arteriolosclerosis was defined as the presence of hyaline deposits (arrow) in the wall of at least one arteriole. B: Arteriosclerosis was defined as a thickening of intima. Maximal intima thickness visible on the sample biopsy was measured (double arrow). Here, intima/media ratio was superior to 1, which corresponds to severe arteriosclerosis.
