  1. Patients were grouped based on quartiles of PTH decrease from first cinacalcet prescription. Patients whose PTH levels increased or remained unchanged were assigned to “no PTH reduction” group.
  2. Rates are expressed as events per 100 person-years.
  3. *Composite events include death, or hospitalization for stroke, congestive heart failure, or acute myocardial infarction.
  4. PTH, parathyroid hormone.
