Stage

Criteria

Stage 1

One of the following

• Serum creatinine increased 1.5–1.9 times baseline

• Serum creatinine increase >26.5 μmol/L (0.3 mg/dL)

• Urinary output <0.5 mL/kg/h for 6–12 h

Stage 2

• Serum creatinine increase 2.0–2.9 times baseline

• Urinary output <0.5 mL/kg/h for more than 12 h

Stage 3

• Serum creatinine increase >3 times baseline

• Serum creatinine increases to >353.6 μmol/L (4.0 mg/dL)

• Initiation of renal replacement therapy

• Urinary output <0.3 mL/kg/h during more than 24 h

• Anuria for more than 12 h
