Survival studies. The animals were randomly separated into 4 groups: MORG1^+/+ and MORG1^+/− injected with 0.9% NaCl, and MORG1^+/+ and MORG1^+/− injected with 5 mg/kg BW LPS. The survival rate was analysed over a period of 72 h. 10 mice per group were approved by the Local Animal Committee of Thuringia and were subjected to the survival analyses. The survival rate in MORG1^+/+ animals treated with LPS was reduced by 20% compared with the NaCl controls, whereas all MORG1^+/− mice injected with LPS survived the 72-h observation period
