From: Rehydration with fructose worsens dehydration-induced renal damage
Renal injury. Proximal tubular injury was assessed by staining for proximal tubular brush border for ACE (a-c, 200), interstitial inflammation was determined by staining for F4/80 positive macrophages (d-f, 400×), and interstitial fibrosis by staining for type III collagen (g-i, 200). Heat stress was associated with loss of proximal tubular brush border, interstitial inflammation and interstitial fibrosis which tended to be worse with fructose rehydration. Scale bar 50 μm.
