Macroscopic and microscopic findings of the abdominal para-aortic lymph nodes and left ventricle. Abdominal para-aortic lymph nodes were enlarged (Panel a; scale in centimeters). Their microscopic analysis revealed asteroid body and hyalinized lesions with multinucleated giant cells (Panel b and c; staining with H&E). Ventricular septum had white degenerated lesion seen macroscopically (Panel d, arrow; scale in centimeters), which contained multinucleated giant cells seen microscopically (Panel e; H&E). These findings are consistent with sarcoidosis with cardiac involvement
