AS-IV attenuates apoptosis of podocytes induced by TM. Podocyte apoptosis was induced with tunicamycin (TM), after pretreatment with or without AS-IV, and then cells were co-stained with propidium iodide (PI) and annexin V-FITC (A-V) followed by flow cytometric analysis. Apoptotic cells refer to percentage of cells encompassing both A-V single positive and A-V/PI double-positive cells. Representative scatter plots are shown in Figure 5A. The percentage of apoptotic cells determined by flow cytometry are shown in Figure 5B. (n = 6 for both experiments). Data are presented as the mean ± SD. â–³P < 0.05 vs. Untreated, *P < 0.05 vs. TM treated.
