Histological renal biopsy analysis of the pancreatic islet-grafted patient with aHUS. Histological analysis abnormalities possibly related to a TMA process: (i) intra-arteriolar fibrinoid thrombi; (ii) nephroangiosclerosis lesions with intimal fibrinoid necrosis and foam endothelial cells; (iii) ischemic and sclerotic glomeruli (25%); (iv) intense tubulo-interstitial fibrosis. There was no thrombus detected in glomerular capillary, and no deposits detected in immunochemistry
