Typical pathological features of IgA nephropathy in renal biopsy. Total 14 glomeruli were present in the renal biopsy specimen. Glomeruli exhibited proliferation of mesangial cells and increased mesangial matrix with no apparent intraductal hyperplasia or crescentic lesions on periodic acid-Schiff (PAS) staining (a). Immunofluorescence staining demonstrated strongly positive punctate staining within the mesangium for IgA (b) and C3 (c). Original magnification 400 ×
