Comparison between plasma and serum levels of C3, C4, CH50, Ba, C5a and sC5b-9 and inulin clearance (Cin) as a marker of renal function. When we compared levels of C3 (a), C4 (b), CH50 (c), Ba as a fragment of factor B (d), C5a (e) and sC5b-9 (f) between plasma and serum samples, serum levels of C5a, Ba and sC5b-9 were significantly higher than plasma levels, although no differences were evident between plasma and serum levels of C3, C4 or CH50.
